Mine would have to be "Getting So Excited" because of it's nasty groove disco beat and that line, "I'd do anything for love, but I won't do that." :D

View Full Version : Favorite Bonnie Tyler songs of the 80's Steve Savicki 4-17-02, 09:51 AM Mine would have to be "Getting So Excited" because of it's nasty groove disco beat and that line, "I'd do anything for love, but I won't do that." :D Roemello 4-17-02, 10:02 AM Easy choice there for me....'holding out for a hero' by far :D 80sTrivia 4-17-02, 10:07 AM I voted for "Holding Out for a Hero" as well! It was Hope and Bo's theme song on DOOL back in the 80s! I can still see Hope in her wedding gown, taking off on the back of Bo's cycle as this song was playing! I also loved "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and "It's a Heartache". Bonnie had that great, gravelly voice that I always thought was sexy!!! :) Greenway88 4-17-02, 01:05 PM Holding out for a hero Trixter 4-17-02, 01:31 PM I've been listening to Bonnie Tyler since the early 70's and her music is great! I voted for "Total Eclipse Of The Heart", that is my favorite 80's song, with "Holding Out For A Hero" coming in a close second place! I also love "It's A Heartache", that song brings back many Valentine memories from the 70's!! :) Steve Savicki 4-17-02, 01:45 PM Originally posted by Trixter I also love "It's A Heartache", that song brings back many Valentine memories from the 70's!! :) You got women at such an early age! {jealous} scott28883 4-17-02, 03:32 PM I voted for "holding out for a hero" I dont know many of her songs. too bad because she has a unique voice. angeleyes25 4-17-02, 05:45 PM There's alot of songs I like by her but I voted for "Holding Out For A Hero" followed by "It's A Heartache". Iluvthe80s 4-17-02, 06:44 PM My favorite song has always been "Total Eclipse Of The Heart". It has such a beautiful and haunting melody. JS 4-17-02, 09:19 PM Total Eclipse Of The Heart :) Harket 4-17-02, 09:46 PM "Total eclipse of the heart" got the vote, as it's the one I'm most familiar with. I remember, I thought the video was a little scary  Recker 4-17-02, 09:54 PM Don't know how a woman with such a gravelly voice made such an impact on the music industry. But then again, it's not as if she was a major star, so maybe her gravelly voice is the reason she wasn't huge. Well she certainly wasn't where I come from. :) Sarg 4-17-02, 10:49 PM "Holding Out For A Hero" was an awesome song so that's what I voted for. ImSoooSure 4-18-02, 01:45 AM I liked Total Eclipse best. I had forgotten all about Holding Out For A Hero until now. Both great songs. 80sSmurf 4-18-02, 05:22 AM I don't really know any Bonnie Tyler songs besides total eclipse of the heart, so that got my vote :) Jazzmyn 4-19-02, 12:40 PM I voted for Total Eclipse of the Heart. Always one of my favorite songs. Great to sing along with. :) Think I still know all the words. lol Steve Savicki 4-19-02, 12:45 PM Okay, we have a ballad & an up-tempo at a tie here of 8 votes each. Who will be the tie-breaker? Pippi 5-26-02, 02:28 AM I voted for Total Eclipse Of My Heart. LOSTNTHE80S 5-19-03, 03:17 PM I've always enjoyed IT'S A HEARTACHE. She's a great singer and I just love her voice. DC Rebel 5-19-03, 03:46 PM My vote would have to go with the song, Total Eclipse of the Heart. Huw 5-19-03, 04:38 PM I wanted to vote for Lost in France. Then I realised that was from the '70s (No. 9 in the UK charts in October 1976), so I guess I'll have to go for Holding Out For A Hero (though I do have a sneaking fondness for the A Rockin' Good Way... - mind you, I'm biased since just like Bonnie, Shaky, I too am Welsh). Huw Brand1974 7-03-03, 04:01 PM I don't really know many Bonnie Tyler songs besides Total Eclipse of the Heart and Holding out for a hero. I chose TEOTH though whistledog 9-24-04, 02:57 AM I liked A Rockin' Good Way I still don't think ole Shaky had a fair shot at American success. He should have been more than a 1 hit wonder. Bonnie's vocals were excellent in that song :thumb: Ayla 9-24-04, 03:42 AM Went with Holding out for a Hero, have always liked it but now holds a special place in my heart lol Second would be "Going through the motions" |
