I haven't seen any discussion of Weird Al on the Xchange.

Dare I say that I saw Weird Al in concert when I was in high school? Yes, I love Weird Al. His most popular parody was 'Amish Paradise' (Great video by the way), but that was in the 90's. As was 'Smells Like Nirvana'. But Weird Al had many parodies in the 80's. Six made the hot 100 and 'Eat It' made it all the way to #12 in 1984. Which is your favorite parody by Weird Al?

Mine is 'Fat' to the tune of Michael Jackson's 'Bad'.

Being the Madonnaphile that I am, I gave my props to "Like a Surgeon", but all of his 80s parodies were such a hoot! The only Weird Al singles that I actually have in my collection are "Like a Surgeon" and "Oh, Ricky!". And the videos for his Michael Jackson send-ups, "Eat It" and "Fat", are comedic gemstones!!! :lol:

I voted for "Like A Surgeon", Weird Al on that gerny (sp?) was just too hilarious! Madonna was proud, I'm sure! :lol:

"I Lost on Jeopardy" is probably my favorite, although all of his work was Grammy-worthy.:D Jeopardy was a staple of my evenings throughout the late 80s, and combined with a great Greg Kihn song, what is there not to like?:lol:

WEIRD AL IS AWESOME. I said AWESOME. DO YOU HEAR ME? I voted for "another one rides the bus" I dont think there is a video for this song. But I like most or all of his parody songs. UHF was pretty good. Great imagination this guy has.:goofy:

My favorite is definitely "Eat It". :lol:

I like Weird Al but the only songs I heard from the list is Eat It wich I voted for,Fat like a surgeon and Anthor one rides the bus.

But I voted for "Ricky" anyways.

I love all of his songs! I especially like Fat and I Think I'm A Clone Now.

Greenway, Al doesn't SUCK, he ROCKS!!! I chose "Eat It". My brother saw him a few years ago in Portland.

Good poll Greenway! I voted for Eat It. I can't remember Like A Surgen. I would prob vote for that if I heard it again.

A hard choice, but I went with "Eat It'. You just can't top that one.

UHF was hillarious! I remember the variety show Al's character started; some of the lines were funny; especially the one where he says "what a better way to say 'hello' than with a frying pan" and pegs the clown in the nose! Definitely remember the parody of Conan the Librarian- definitely would not want to bring back any overdue books to that library:D

It was a Spatula, not a frying pan. Remember, Spatula City?? Too funny :lol: I had a girlfriend at the time that during B-days and Valentine day and Christmas and all those days I always bought her a spatula! I still have some she gave to me :lol: I loved UHF! I like the way he did "Beverly Hillbilly's" to "Money for nothing"!! I voted for "Another one rides the bus" on this poll.

BTW, the last option was pretty funny too.

BTW....loved UHF...and it's coming out on DVD this summer with a TON of stuff. Al is making sure that us insane fans get plenty for our money!!! (And yes...abcmcd, I am sending you UHF on VHS soon!! It really did slip my mind!!!:confused: )

I can hardly wait...This has turned into one of my son's favs as well.

My favorite Weird Al song is "Like a Surgeon" but "Yoda (the first Al song I ever heard)" is a definite close second.

"Like a surgeon" is prob my fav.
seeing him dance around the operating table, doing those Madonna moves.. Lying back and throwing back his head, trying to look sexy is just too much.

Oh yes, I forgot, Weird Al does actually look and read messages on Myspace and his main website! He even updates the site himself! So if you have a Myspace account add Al as your friend!
