View Full Version : Who do you want to see remastered?
Cartoon_Chris 4-14-02, 10:26 PM Of the bands who have not gotten the full remaster treatment yet.
My picks would be Def Leppard, Blue Oyster Cult's post-1976 work (good start Sony! Keep going!), Boston, April Wine, ZZ Top, Ted Nugent's 1978-81 releases, and more by Alice Cooper and Megadeth.
I hate buying old cruddy issues of a band's work only to have them turn around and remaster everything on me, so I'm not buying any more non-remasters from the back (like pre-1990s) catalogues of these bands. It's not just for the sound, I like the expanded booklets and the bonus tracks that remasters have.
80s hair 4-15-02, 08:04 PM I want to see the rest of Van Halen's CDs. Great job on the first 6 CDs from the David Lee Roth period. Now give Sammy Hagar his due!!! I also would like to see the Beatles studio albums done!!
Cartoon_Chris 4-15-02, 10:36 PM The Beatles for sure, of course. I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet, there must be a lot of legal red tape involved.
At least the Beatles CDs organized the tracklist differences between the US and UK vinyl versions into something cohesive - the CDs of the Rolling Stones '60s albums did not, and they're still a real mess. Remaster them too!
I would have to go with all of Pat Benetar's cd's, especially because "Tropico" and "Seven The Hard Way" are so difficult to obtain! I'd also like them to have the extra bonus tracks that so many remastered cd's are containing! :thumb:
Poison PJ 4-17-02, 10:26 AM The 80's Dokken Albums, All Of Poison's Up To Native Tongue, Ratt, The Cult, Stryper, Vixen, Phantom Blue, Warrant's First 2 Albums & Shark Island's "Law Of the Order"
Cartoon_Chris 6-19-02, 08:09 PM Not '80s related, but it looks like the Rolling Stones '60s work is finally going to be properly remastered:

Any sound experts care to explain what SACD and double-layering means?
Iluvthe80s 6-19-02, 08:56 PM I agree with the Stones albums as well that I would like to see remastered. Here are a few more: INXS ('82-'87), The Powerstation (1985), Def Leppard, David Bowie ('70's and '80's albums), and a few more hair bands I cannot think of at the moment. Bear with me, because some of these may be remastered and I am just not aware of it.
There is only one time though that I do not like a remaster. In the case of Duran Duran's "Rio" (remastered version). They actually changed a little of the lyrics and some of the music on two songs. I didn't really like that.
Femmetal 6-20-02, 01:51 AM I'd like to see Fiona's 80s vinyl albums remastered on CDs! This is Fiona Flanagan, not Fiona Apple.
And another request for remastered RATT albums!
I do love the remastered Judas Priest CDs recently released!

I own every Alice Cooper album but like to see all of them remastered and the out of print albums rereleased. In my view, From The Inside is Alice's best work but many fans have never gotten to hear that great album because it is out of print here in the U. S. However, you can get it at www.rammusic.com or at www.impulse.com
way too many to list but here's just a few:
Cheap Trick-dream police
Dokken- Needs to be heavier
April Wine-nature of the beast
